EXODUS Fans Take Part In Video Shoot; Photos Available
April 29, 2010San Francisco Bay Area thrashers EXODUS filmed two videos on April 1 in Los Angeles with director Jon Schnepp ("Metalocalypse", the animated program about DETHKLOK, the world's most popular death metal band, on Cartoon Network's Adult Swim) on the old set of the television sitcom "Night Court". Eight lucky fans were invited to be a part of the shoot and three additional fans were selected to take exclusive photos with the band on the various available sets.
Here's what the guests had to say about their experience.
Steve McAlvey: "I can't put into words how cool it was to be in a court room watching EXODUS film a music video — let alone BE in it — except 'HOLY DEEP-FRIED COW SHIT, THAT'S FUCKIN' AWESOME!!!!' It was almost like a personal show for a few fans, plus I got to tear down Tom's [Hunting] drums at the end of the shoot which was an experience all in its separate self and made this a day I will never forget!!!! Thanks JACK, TOM, GARY, LEE, AND ROB FOR ONE OF THE BEST DAYS OF MY LIFE!!!!"
Ty Melton: "The band and everybody were great. We had fun exploring the sets and watching the videos being shot. We got an inside look how music videos were made and I met some pretty cool fellow fans!!! What more could an EXODUS fan ask for?"
Nidia Ramirez: "Being part of something so cool as an EXODUS video is something I could only dream about. I met with the other winners who had to travel from cities I've never heard of… like the gymnast teacher and guy that traveled an hour and 30 minutes just to get to the set. Being in the actual video was the best part of the day/best time of my life. We did about five takes of pure headbanging, but we gave everything we had every time. Can you do it any other way when you listen to EXODUS? On our final take, at the end of the song, I couldn't do anything else but just fall to the ground out of exhaustion and excitement. I had woken up the morning of the shoot with a sore neck from the night before seeing EXODUS play with MEGADETH and TESTAMENT, and by the end of the shoot, my whole body was sore, but I wouldn't give up the experience for anything in this world."
Chimen Klein: "Being a part of the filming for the 'Downfall' video was awesome. Although I was still kind of hurting from the concert the night before, it was great to see the guys and hang out the next day. I actually met the band in Japan last year and partied with them a couple of nights at the Thrash Domination shows. While I already knew the guys, I made some new friends that day as well. It was also very cool to sit down with director Jon Schnepp and have lunch with him. The dude is frickin’ hilarious and has a great sense of humor."
